Since 2006 Pearl Jam founded the Vitalogy Foundation in 2006. It supports organizations working in community health, environmental protection, arts and education, homelessness, Indigenous causes and social change. By 2016, the foundation reported having distributed about $5.4 million to nonprofits over its first decade. Source
2016 The band cancelled its Raleigh concert over North Carolina's HB2, describing it as legislation that discriminated against LGBT people and specifically mentioning protection from discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. They also said they would provide funds to local groups opposing the law. Source
