2023 Kneecap have used violent political language in performances. Footage from a 2023 show appeared to show a member saying “the only good Tory is a dead Tory” and “kill your local MP.” The band later apologised to the families of murdered MPs Jo Cox and David Amess, saying they never intended to hurt them. The comments were investigated by counter-terrorism police. Source
2024 Mo Chara was filmed at a 2024 London concert holding what prosecutors alleged was a Hezbollah flag. He was later charged under UK terrorism law. However, he was never convicted, and the case never went to trial. The court threw the case out because prosecutors had not followed the required legal procedure within the time limit. The High Court upheld that decision in March 2026. The judges specifically said the case ending this way did not decide whether Mo Chara had committed the alleged offence. Kneecap have denied supporting Hezbollah or Hamas and said the flag had been thrown onto the stage. Source
2025, 2026 Kneecap have been active in Palestinian solidarity for years. In 2025 they used their Coachella performances to advocate for Palestinian freedom and accuse Israel of genocide, and in 2026 Móglaí Bap described helping raise money for a gym at the Lajee Center in the Aida refugee camp in the West Bank.
