2024 Timberlake was arrested in June 2024 after police reported that he had bloodshot, glassy eyes, an odor of alcohol, difficulty maintaining attention and poor performance on field sobriety tests. He initially pleaded not guilty to DWI, then pleaded guilty to the lesser offense of driving while ability impaired. He received a $500 fine, a 90-day licence suspension, 25 hours of community service and an order to make a public-safety announcement. Source

In 2002, he helped spearhead a petition delivered to Congress with nearly 15,000 signatures calling for better music education in American schools.
