1997 The police investigated Gary Glitter after technicians reportedly discovered illegal images involving children on a computer he had taken for repair. Police searched his properties and seized additional material. Glitter denied committing an offence and was released without charge at the time. Source
2006 2006, Gary Glitter was convicted in Vietnam of sexual offences involving two underage girls and sentenced to three years in prison. The conviction followed his arrest and extradition to Vietnam after he had been deported from Cambodia. He denied the allegations during the proceedings. Source
2015 Gary Glitter was convicted in the UK of six sexual offences involving three girls during the 1970s. He was sentenced to 16 years in prison. The court found the offences sufficiently serious to warrant the maximum sentence available for some of the charges and found no convincing evidence that he had atoned for his crimes. Source
