| Before forming Dragonforce, founding members Sam Totman and Herman Li were members of Demoniac, whose recordings contained racist and homophobic material, as well as references to white supremacy and Nazi imagery. In a 2014 interview, Totman described the material as immature shock humour from his youth and said that members wrote their own songs.
