| 1973, 2026 | Julia Misley, formerly known as Julia Holcomb, says she began a relationship with Tyler in 1973, when she was 16 and he was 25. She alleges that singer Steven Tyler used his age, fame and financial position to control and sexually exploit her. Misley also says Tyler obtained guardianship over her and later pressured her into having an abortion. Tyler has denied sexually assaulting or abusing Misley. However, the existence of a relationship with an underage girl is supported in part by Tyler’s own past descriptions of that period. The main dispute concerns whether the relationship involved abuse, coercion and exploitation. Misley later filed a lawsuit against Tyler. Several claims were dismissed because of legal deadlines and questions about which state’s law applied. These dismissals did not establish whether her allegations were true or false. | Source |
| 1975, 2024 | Jeanne Bellino alleges that Tyler sexually assaulted her twice in New York in 1975, when she was 17. She says the incidents occurred after she met Tyler near a hotel connected to an Aerosmith event. Tyler denied Bellino’s allegations. Her lawsuit was dismissed because the court ruled that it had been filed too late and did not qualify under the temporary law she used to bring the case. | Source |
| 2015 | Janie’s Fund, founded by Tyler in 2015 with Youth Villages, supports girls who have experienced abuse or neglect, including through trauma-informed care, counseling and residential programs. The cause grew out of Aerosmith’s song “Janie’s Got a Gun,” which addresses child abuse. | Source |
