| Craig and Charlie Reid publicly criticized trans rights activists while promoting their album "You May Offend." Craig described trans-rights advocates as “truth-phobic”, said that people who reject the idea that sex determines whether someone is a woman are denying “biological reality”, and described transgender women as male people who may “put on a dress” and makeup. He also said Scotland's 2022 Gender Recognition Reform Bill had resulted in violent men, including convicted rapists, being sent to women's prisons, calling this “unforgivable”. Charlie defended Graham Linehan and JK Rowling, saying Linehan had “lost his career for telling the truth”. It's also quite the contrast to their 2013 support for equal rights for gay and transgender people during Scotland's equal-marriage campaign. | Source |
