1961 Chuck Berry was convicted under the Mann Act for transporting a 14-year-old girl from El Paso to St. Louis for “immoral purposes.” His conviction was upheld on appeal, and he was sentenced to three years in prison. Source
1990 Numerous women sued Berry, alleging that hidden cameras had been used to record them while they were undressing or using bathrooms at his properties. About 60 women were involved in a settlement reported at $830,000, while other settlements brought the total to more than $1 million. Berry denied involvement. Source
