1995 Courtney Love struck Bikini Kill singer Kathleen Hanna. Love subsequently pleaded guilty to fourth-degree assault and received a suspended 365-day jail sentence, a fine and anger-management classes. Source
2003-2005 Courtney Love had longstanding heroin and other drug problems, including multiple criminal cases involving drug possession and being under the influence. In 2003, she overdosed on prescription medication while her 11-year-old daughter Frances Bean was present, after which child services took Frances into temporary custody. In 2005, a judge ordered Love into drug rehabilitation after she admitted violating probation through drug use. Source

2024 Love donated the original handwritten lyrics to Hole's “Violet” for an auction benefiting Ellis Park, a wildlife sanctuary in Sumatra. The proceeds went to the sanctuary's work caring for rescued animals. Source
